No.GT2200 – Heavy Duty Commercial Vehicle Radiator Pressure & Evacuator Set
The GT2200 is a professional-grade tool set designed for pressure testing and evacuating cooling systems in heavy-duty commercial vehicles and trucks. It allows fast and accurate detection of leaks to help maintain optimal cooling system performance and prevent engine overheating.
Automotive cooling systems operate under pressure, and even minor leaks can reduce cooling efficiency, leading to overheating and potential engine damage. This kit enables technicians to quickly pressurize the system and identify leaks before serious issues occur.

Commercial Vehicle Cooling System Maintenance & Tool Guide
Why Specialized Tools Matter Commercial vehicle cooling systems are vastly different from passenger cars. They feature massive coolant capacities, complex circuits (EGR coolers, transmission coolers), and high-pressure environments. Maintaining them requires tools designed for speed and volume to prevent engine overheating and downtime.
Coolant Capacity Reference
Truck cooling systems hold significantly more fluid than cars. Knowing the capacity helps in planning maintenance:
| Make | Model | Capacity |
|---|---|---|
| Freightliner | Cascadia | 75-95 |
| International | DuraStar (4300 / medium-duty) | 20-30 |
| Iveco | S-Way (heavy-duty) | 44-64 |
| Kenworth | W900 | 26-38 |
| Mack | Pinnacle (CXU/MP8, etc.) | 36-50 |
| MAN | TGL | 21.5 |
| Mercedes-Benz | Atego | 23 |
| Renault Trucks | Midlum | 22-25 |
| Scania | P / G / R / T series | 44 |
1. Pressure Leak Testing
Safety First: Never open the coolant system when hot. Always wait for the engine to cool to avoid injury from pressurized steam.
The Process:
-
Check Levels: Ensure coolant is between MIN/MAX on the surge tank.
-
Identify Caps: Most trucks have two caps. Use the Pressure Cap (usually marked 1.0–1.5 bar) for testing, not the smaller non-sealing inspection cap.
-
Pressurize: Manual pumping on a truck system is exhausting due to the large air volume in the surge tank. The Pneumatic Tool uses compressed air to pressurize the system instantly, saving time and effort.
2. Vacuum Coolant Refill (The Better Way)
Traditional "gravity filling" is slow and risky for trucks. It requires a 45+ minute bleeding process to remove air pockets from long coolant lines and EGR coolers. Failure to bleed air correctly leads to overheating, air locks, and fault codes.
The Vacuum Solution: Using the Vacuum Refill Tool reduces refill time to under 10 minutes and eliminates air pockets automatically.
-
Step 1: Drain old coolant and attach the correct adapter to the surge tank.
-
Step 2: Connect the tool to an air compressor and switch to "Vacuum".
-
Step 3: When the gauge reads -0.8 bar, switch to "Fill". The tool sucks new coolant from your bucket instantly.
-
Step 4: Top off manually if needed.
Comprehensive Adapter Applications
Unlike outdated kits limited to old US trucks, this set covers modern American and European heavy-duty vehicles (Euro 6, recent model years).
